We are going to see this epic fight this Sunday between Drew Galloway and Bobby Lashley at TNA Slammiversary 2016. We hope every one is as excited about it as we are. Drew Galloway was caught by Total Wrestling Magazine with this interview. Here are the recaps of the interview:
He’s a different kind of athlete,” Galloway stated to Total Wrestling Magazine’s Brad Jones ahead of TNA Slammiversary 2016 on June 12. “He’s like a Brock Lesnar kind of athlete where they can do, literally, absolutely anything. They’re just genetically insane, they train insane, and when they put their mind to something, they’re going to do it. He’s the first ever guy to do MMA and pro wrestling at the same time”
Galloway has been feuding with the two-time former TNA world champion for several months. The issue between the two dates back to the aftermath of a bout on the March 8 edition of Impact Wrestling, where the Scot ran out in support of Kurt Angle, who was suffering a beatdown at the hands of Lashley.
The pair previously contested the title in a Lumberjack Match that ended without a decision. This Sunday, they will do battle once again, this time with an MMA-inspired stipulation that will see the match end via knockout or submission. However, the build to the match has given Galloway ample time to scope out his opponent.
“We’ve been really working hard with each other, pushing each other’s buttons just to make it believable,” says Galloway. “The way that the build has been, and that the story has been — creative has been awesome, and we’ve worked hard to keep the angle going. We want to get it as big as possible.”
The stipulation seems to stack the deck in Lashley’s favour, as the competitor is unbeaten in MMA since he signed with Bellator in 2014. However, that hasn’t been enough to dissuade Galloway from seeing whether he can knock the fighter off his plinth during training.
“You know, I’ve tried him a couple of times,” the world champion told Total Wrestling. “I’ve maybe not succeeded those couple of times, but I’m not shy to try, just like my character. That’s just me, that’s real Drew Galloway. I’m not playing a character.
“I legit have tried him a couple of times, and I’ve legit lost a couple of times where we’ve rolled around the ring together. I’m willing to do that. I won’t stop.”
“Bobby Lashley may have come out on top in these skirmishes, but the final battle is still to come — and Galloway doesn’t plan on making it easy for the challenger.
“He’s going to have to rip off a limb if he wants me to submit. He’s going to have to knock me spark out if he wants that title.”
