Nights like these are made for athletes like me, they’re made for champions. Bring your best, ladies. You won’t get anything less. #WWEClash

This isn’t the first time we’ve shared a ring and I know #WWEClash won’t be the last. 8 years have led to this and I’m leaving #Champion. pic.twitter.com/e6R37XrXuj

Really excited for #WWEClash, especially @MegaTJP vs @mrbriankendrick for the Cruiserweight Title. Wish @mauroranallo and I were calling it!

Nia Jax Vs Alicia Fox

This was a very quick, almost squash match. Alicia didn’t stand a chance or get in much offence after the drop kick she started the match with before she was flattened and pinned by the overweight Nia Jax.

WWE Tag Team Championship: The New Day (c) vs. The Club

This was a good opening match, nothing special but it was fine for what it was.

Some fans seemed to be upset that The Club didn’t win the tag titles but it didn’t bother me.

Kofi scored the pin on Anderson.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship: TJ Perkins (c) vs. Brian Kendrick

I thought TJ Perkins and Brian Kendrick had a really good match.

Perkins takes the win with a Knee Bar, forcing Brian to tap out as he wasn’t able to reach the ropes.

After the match, Brian extends his hand for a handshake but double crosses TJP and levels him with a big headbutt, sending him down to the mat and leaving him laying as he walks down the ramp.

I was pleased to see this happen because it means more matches between these two. This match was very good but it did feel like the first match in a series – they can and will have better matches and I’m looking forward to them.

Best of Seven Series: Sheamus vs. Cesaro (3-3)

This would have been the deciding match in the Best Of 7 Series but it ended in controversial circumstances as both guys were said to be unable to continue the match after a hard-hitting battle. I thought this was the best match they have had in the series and that Cesaro really brings out the best in Sheamus and forces him to work harder and do more than he usually would.

There was a worrying moment in the match when Cesaro dived through the ropes and ended up landing on the top of his head. Thankfully he was okay and didn’t seem to be seriously injured.

On advice of the @WWE trainers and doctors, the referee STOPS the match! #BestOf7 #WWEClash pic.twitter.com/Wf5FZs4NM0

Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho

Zayn and Jericho had a really enjoyable match – I expect it to be only the first in a series of matches between them with each one turning up the heat a little more until their last match but this one was still very good. Chris Jericho survived a Blue Thunder Bomb and avoided a Helluva Kick to score the victory after hitting a Condebreaker on Sami.

I look forwatd to watching furture matches between them.

RAW Women’s Championship: Charlotte (c) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley

All three women work hard and have a really good match – For the finish, Charlotte boots Bayley into Sasha, knocking her from the ring and hits another boot on Bayley before pinning her to retain her Championship. I was expecting Dana to play a part in the match, perhaps costing Charlotte the Title but it didn’t happen. Good match.

United States Championship: Rusev (c) vs. Roman Reigns

I started to watch this match but I was so bored after a few minutes that I just hit fast forward and I read online since then that Roman won the match with a Spear and became the US Champion. That’s good because I find Rusev so boring.
As far as I could tell from the little I watch, this match was slow and pretty bad. I wasn’t able to watch it and I’ve sat through some bad matches in my many years as a fan, but this was so bad that I just couldn’t watch it. Maybe I have less patience than I used to have, I don’t know, but trust me this really was bad and not worth watching.

WWE Universal Championship: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Seth Rollins

They had an excellent main event match here – the finish saw Chris Jericho who came to ringside put Kevin Owen’s leg on the ropes to save him after he had received a Pedigree from Rollins and was about to get pinned. Rollins hit a suicide Dive on Jericho and a Suicide Dive on Owens but the referee was down at this point. Stephanie appeared with another referee but the distraction allowed Owens to recover and he hit a Pop-Up Powerbomb on Rollins and pinned him to retain his Championship. Rollins may have been injured taking a Gutbuster from the top rope during the match as he looked in a lot of pain and was holding his ribs although he still contrinued the match.

— WWE (@WWE) September 26, 2016

Overall I though this was a very good PPV for WWE standards in recent years – It would have been better if Roman / Rusev wasn’t on the card as that brought the quality down somewhat but thankfully I wasn’t watching live and was able to skip it. Everything else either lived up to or exceeded expectations and left doors open for further advancement in storylines and rematches.
